We cover all aspects of EV vehicle servicing and repair offering a fast and reliable service at unbeatable value.
An electric car does need servicing at the same intervals as any car. Brakes, windscreen wiper replacement along with brake fluid changes will all still be needed. Low tyre pressures can be unsafe and they’ll reduce your range.
Keeping your EV vehicle well maintained by regular servicing will help reduce the overall running cost and help prevent mechanical breakdown.

Our professionals know how to handle a wide range of car services. Whether you drive a passenger car or 4X4 or SUV, our mechanics strive to ensure that your vehicle will be performing at its best.

DC Tyres & Autocentre is a family-run business established in 1996. We offer a full range of garage services to vehicle owners in Castle Donington Derby. Servicing all makes and models, we pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of repair and servicing at an affordable cost to you, the customer.

  • Electric Vehicle Servicing

A service is vehicle specific – some cars will need more checks than others and will therefore require more time. Our qualified EV technicians will be aware of any common faults to look out for or prevent from occurring. Vehicle servicing is designed to keep a car safe and reliable until the next service.
The service schedule contains lots of checks that are not checked on an MOT, for example:

    • Checking the auxiliary battery so that you’re not stranded on a cold night.
    • Checking the brake fluid moisture content because with electronic braking systems you won’t feel a problem through the pedal.
    • Diagnostic equipment is used to check everything is working as it should, and that there is no corrosion or dirt on the charging connectors, which could lead to a build-up of heat damaging the connectors.
  • Electric Vehicle MOT

Electric vehicles still have to pass an MOT test after three years just like any other vehicle on the road but unlike their diesel and petrol counterparts, EVs do not require an emissions test.

  • How do I keep track of routine?

Many modern cars feature on-board computers which keep track of when your car service is due.
